Fashion Show: What’s In and What Not

Fashion may have a lot of meanings according to different kinds of people. The typical meaning of fashion to a lot of people is that it is what clothes and accessories are in today and those that are not. People most especially women get influenced by the latest and newest fashion show held by the most famous fashion designers in the world.  Models are arranged on how they go out the runway according to the designers preference and what story he or she would like to portray with his collection. It is up to the audience to decipher the meaning of his or her creation.

In a fashion show, there is a runway wherein models both men and women showcase the designers newest collection for that particular season. The most famous ones are the summer collection or spring collection and the winter collection or the fall collection. Each collection has its own unique styles and designs that make it stand out and differ from the rest. But there is also a fashion show that is done by not so famous designers or those that have just started into the fashion making business. These shows also influence the fashion taste of most of the people.

Aside from the typical fashion show where models catwalk the designer clothes in the runway, there is also a different form of fashion show like when models just hold still in a certain area and in a certain position and the audience are one ones who will roam around and look at the different clothes worn by those models.

There are also competitions wherein they look for the next top designer from a pool of competitors. Each competitor will need to tailor his or her own design and showcase it in a fashion show. By the end of the contest, whoever is left standing and whoever wins the judges’ hearts with their designs will be named the winner. Another competition would be looking for the next top model by judging them on how they carry themselves and the clothes they wear in the runway of a designer’s fashion show.

But here is a good thing about fashion. You can make your own bold statement. Just because that is the emerging trend, doesn’t mean that are obliged to follow them. You can choose the style of your choice may it be in line with the trend or not. What matters most is that you make it look good on you by holding that chin up and wear it with confidence.

So if you want to know more on the latest trends and fashion in the world, you don’t need to go and see a real fashion show personally. You can see it in the television and at your own comfort!

The Runway: Your Guide to Fashion

Every girl wants to fit in. Every girl wants to stand out. How do they do that exactly? It is by making their own fashion statement. What is fashion anyway? It is a general term that pertains to a trendy style. Now, where do they find the latest fashion ins and outs? Of course, it is from the runway shows where famous designers showcase their most creative and new designs for the specific season. Runway shows take place every season to depict what styles are in.

There are two remarkable fashion trends that are seen lobbied in runway shows for 2012. They say that history repeats itself. As for this year’s fashion there is a reminisce of a time in history that has not been recognized for a long time. First is the 1920’s inspired flapper dress. This kind of style is a dropped waist dress. Fashion analysts and critics say that this kind of dress highlights the female body’s profile. The second fashion trend that is in this year is the flat heeled shoes which compliment the 1920’s flapper dress. They are also known as kitten heels. They are more comfortable to wear than compared to the high heeled, stiletto type of shoes.

The focus of this year’s fashion will be on the feminine side. Another fashion trend is the princess chic wherein there are floral prints and colors that range from pastel colors like baby pink, baby blue and yellow. But then again, you cannot say that he or she fits whatever is in for fashion. Certain clothes make certain body structures look great but make other body structures look bad. That is why it is very important for one to know what type of body he or she has so that he or she will know what clothes to wear to fit it.

The runway has a very big influence in the fashion world. What models wear when they walk down that runway will be the basis for the next fashion ins and outs. But no matter the trend, keep in mind that simplicity is the secret. You can pick one element that is in this year and from there, play around with what to match it. Fashion is more than just following the latest trends and fads. It’s more of getting to know your body, what fits your type of body and how you carry what you are wearing. Next thing you have to do is to carry yourself and what you are wearing with confidence.

The runway is just merely a guide in dressing up but it is up to you to on how you will express your own fashion statement. As the saying goes, if you have it, flaunt it!

Sporty and Summer Trend 2012

The year 2011 is over and we already embraced the year of the Water Dragon 2012. Last year 80’s inspire punk look was in but now it’s already out of style. But wait, you don’t have to change your entire wardrobe and shop till you drop to be in style. Since this year London will host the upcoming Olympic Summer Games, sporty summer look will be the hit in fashion and style. Sports are most of the time associated with performance and endurance so clothes will be tighter.

Colors green, blue, white and turquoise will be in-style for the summer fashion look added up with natural fiber accessories, shell-inspired and more natural look. Polka dots at the start of the year are also a startling trend. Prints for men and women will look great too.

For men, pastel colors will highlight any outfit of the day, spice it up with structured bags for natural to cool look get-up. And yes, men can carry bags or small pursed with them. Bold bright colors which come in variety plaid and stripes will be among men’s favorite.

You will no longer find pants which reminds you of leggings or super skinny men jeans. Board shorts and above-the-knee shorts plus brightly colored belt will be a trend but still shows their masculinity.

For their footwear, classic shoes are still the top trend but for men who do not prefer wearing close shoes they can go for a comfy sandals or fringed loafers. To complete men’s new look 2012, too short hairstyles for men are not too in rather curly and not too short will do.  Natural, less stylish and more relaxed hair styles will match up their sporty natural look.

For women, different themes arise from tailored, classic but still bold and edgy.  This includes fun fashion that offers wonderful stripes, patterns, vivid and geometric prints. Some categories include art deco, urban jungle and nude look.  Colors for summer look which includes combination of soft and warm colors, warm oranges, soft gold, neutrals, majestic pink, silhouettes, detailed, flirty, and more feminine for a fanciful and carefree look.  This includes sexy little dresses, lace and floral prints.

Skinny tight jeans with bright colors are now out for women too and replaced with loose and baggy jeans.  Skirts from your old wardrobe are still in and one of the must haves. To fit with the men, wearing sporty attire for women is also a trend like fashionable jogging suites and sweat pants of bright colors and prints which are still sexy. 2012 trends focused more on the comfort of the clothes you wear rather than how it looks.  Still black and white colors are on the go for women mix and match with bright colors of the year.  For the footwear, trends of 2011 are still in for 2012 which includes hot ballet flats, chic wedge heels, sleek ankle booties, and pump with more colors, pattern and details.

For women’s hairstyles, super straight long hairs for easy styling are great for its very natural and modern look.  Long yet edgy hairstyles such as long and bouncy, “just rolled out of bed” waves, homemade curls, French twist, looped under ponytail, side pinned waves, wet look big bounced curls and etc. that add up to women’s well groomed, elegant yet well relaxed look. For make-up, timeless look fits the new look which is skin tone inspired from the 80s and 90s look that opt for soft and gentle colors, contoured cheeks, bare eyed mascara, metallic shades for eye shadows, brows that are bold but feminine, and nude lip colors.

Fashion changes from year to another and sometimes trends for the past returns back with a twist so it is not really necessary to change your entire wardrobe. For those budget-conscious who just buy a piece or two and mix-and-match with the ones on your closet. And always remember the most important fashion statement, “it’s not how others look at you rather how you carry yourself on the clothes you wear with comfort and confidence, you are still in-style!”
